Custom puzzles are unforgettable gifts for the solvers we know and love. I’ve had the honor of making themed puzzles for people themed puzzles with wordplay around nicknames, gourmet cooking, and chess, and themeless puzzles with special messages from gifters and many references to shared interests, jokes, and memories.
I start by talking with people about the person they want to gift the puzzle to and what sort of things they’d like to include. If we decide a theme makes sense, I send them multiple options until we settle on something they love. They also get lots of input in the clue-writing process so that the finished product is fully personalized.
